This easy access exploration takes in sites of interest by car with short paths to see the sites at each destination. You can visit the Chain Bridge in Melrose built in the 1930s, the impressive Leaderfoot Viaduct, the Rhymer’s Stone, marking the spot where the unsuspecting Thomas was beguiled and stolen by the Queen of the Fairies, Scott’s View, which looks out over Old Melrose and the Eildons, Wallace’s Statue that looks out over the Borders countryside and the pretty Dryburgh suspension Bridge and nearby Dryburgh Abbey (managed by Historic Scotland, entry fee applicable).
