This circular route from Smailholm follows paths and tracks passing through farmland, woodland and underneath the dramatic Smailholm Tower. Smailholm Tower is managed by Historic Scotland and you can look inside (charges apply.) It is built on a crag that sits proud of the surrounding arable landscape.
