Scottish Borders Walking Festival
The 23rd Scottish Borders Walking Festival will be hosted by Peebles community from 3 to 9 September in 2017.
Peebles lies to the west of our region by the handsome River Tweed below the high elevations of the Southern Upland hills. One of only two towns in the region that was granted Royal burgh status in the 12th century, the town has a long history of tourism starting in the 17th century when pilgrims journeyed to the Cross kirk.
Today the high street, surrounding hills and woodlands are busy with visitors for much of the year. Being used to visitors the town has a variety of accommodation, eateries and shops.
Further details will shortly be added to the official website
